5 more public-data tools for AI agents: building permits, new FL/TX businesses, domain WHOIS and Wayback snapshots

Disclosure: I build these tools, and I used AI to help write them and this post. Five more Panda Federation tools went public on the Apify Store today, and they're in the open-source MCP server as of v1.6.0 (32 tools across four focused servers). Each one reads an official or open source, charges per result, and returns JSON with a one-line agentSummary per row plus Excel/CSV. Tool What it does Price Building Permit Leads Newly issued permits from 8 US city open-data portals (NYC, LA, Chicago, SF, Seattle, Austin, New Orleans, Cambridge) with trade category, job value, contractor and owner $0.0015 / permit Florida New Business Leads New Florida LLCs and corporations from the official Sunbiz daily files, with officers, registered agent and an industry guess $0.0015 / business Texas New Business Leads New Texas franchise taxpayers from Comptroller open data, with SOS file number, charter date and county $0.0015 / business Bulk Domain WHOIS & Expiry Checker RDAP (WHOIS fallback) for up to 10,000 domains: registrar, expiry and days left, availability, locks, DNS host $0.001 / domain Wayback Machine Snapshot Finder Internet Archive CDX snapshots for pages or domains: capture dates, archive URLs, first and last seen $0.001 / snapshot Searches that find nothing aren't charged per result. Try one from an AI assistant Pick the focused server that fits the job instead of loading everything: uvx --from panda-federation-tools panda-leads-tools # permits, FL/TX new businesses (12 tools) uvx --from panda-federation-tools panda-web-security-tools # domain WHOIS/expiry (5 tools) uvx --from panda-federation-tools panda-research-tools # Wayback snapshots (7 tools) Add it as a stdio MCP server with your APIFY_TOKEN (Claude, Cursor and VS Code setup is in the README). Then ask things like: "List roofing and solar permits issued in Austin and Chicago this week, biggest jobs first." "Give me new Florida LLCs in Miami from the last 3 days that look like home-services businesses." "Which of these 200 domains expire in the next 60 days, and where is their DNS hosted?" "Find the archived copy of this dead link closest to March 2019." Every call is schema-checked before it runs and has a hard spending cap (run_max_charge_usd, default $0.50). Or call the Actor directly from apify_client import ApifyClient client = ApifyClient("YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN") run = client.actor("pandadad0214/bulk-domain-whois-expiry").call( run_input={"domains": ["apify.com", "wikipedia.org"], "only": "expiringSoon"} ) for row in client.dataset(run["defaultDatasetId"]).iterate_items(): print(row["agentSummary"]) A few honest limits: contractor names are only published by six of the eight permit cities, Texas data has no officer names, and the Internet Archive's CDX API can take a minute.
