French 2027 presidential elections: Why Melenchon is a Gen Z favourite

Hard-left presidential candidate Jean-Luc Melenchon is beloved by French youth, but also one of the country’s most controversial politicians. His encouragement of the youth protests sweeping through France months ahead of the presidential election has only made him more divisive. So, why is Melenchon a Gen Z favourite?
