Major study challenges long-held fears about acetaminophen and ibuprofen use in babies

A landmark study of nearly 4,000 babies found that acetaminophen and ibuprofen were equally safe during infancy. Neither medicine was linked to eczema or bronchiolitis, and no serious side effects were caused by the drugs. Researchers will continue following the children through age six to study possible long-term effects.
