Paradox between Sharing your Accomplishments and Ego

Paradox between Sharing your Accomplishments and Ego

You might already know based on the title, but it never hurts to give an explanation...right? I have this thought that kept clashing with each other when it comes to sharing your accomplishments while trying not to be an egotistical about it. I found this to be impossible. I am a type of person that doesn't want to be an egotistical person because I am afraid of hurting everyone around me. Always conscious about what others think of me and always rereading my posts to make sure I am not hurting anyone. For a while now, I felt like I am starting to be an egotistical person. Each week, I post about anything DEV related on the platform. The more I do it, the more I feel good about myself. Mainly because I have something to prove that I can do what I do. However, I tend not to share my accomplishments as often to those around me. The only time is when @jess do the weekly "What is your Win this week". Even that took a toll on me because it feels like the things I am sharing brings "everyone" down and despise me for it. I feel this because mostly everyone doesn't share their concerns or feelings. I tend to grew up in a place where people just "hide" their emotions, so it was hard to figure out why people are distancing from me or why they act the way they do. Going back around on this topic, it's a lose-lose situation for me because: If I share something (big or small), it sounds egotistical in my view regardless of how I worded it. Therefore, people will see me as a "egotistical" person. If I don't share anything, people will think I don't have the capability to do something and view me as a "low tier". People will doubt me and I feel like I need to prove it. I am not sure how to go about this. I WANT to share my accomplishments. Not because it allows me to build my portfolio, but also for my mental health. I want to feel good about the things I have done and be proud of it, but at the same time I don't want to be an egotistical person who "flexes" on what I have and making others feel bad. I just don't want to hurt anyone... Thinking about posting 1 article each month (not including the monthly dev report). I will still be active on DEV. Will do more commenting, Liking posts, giving Gems and all. Feels like people saying "I like your post" is a shield of "oh he's better than me"...
