Whereabot is open source: let your AI agent ask where you are, with consent

Your AI agent can read your mail and your calendar. It still cannot answer "where am I?" without you typing it. Whereabot fixes that. It is an MCP server your agent connects to. When the agent asks for your location, your phone gets a notification. You answer, or you don't. Nothing is shared without your tap. Today the code is public, under the MIT license: github.com/whereabot/whereabot. How it works Agent side: add https://relay.whereabot.io/mcp to Claude Code, Claude.ai or any MCP client. You sign in with OAuth. No API keys. Relay: a small Rust server. It passes one location fix from your phone to the agent that asked, then forgets it. It writes no location to a database or a log (privacy statement). Phone side: an iPhone app, or the browser app at whereabot.io/app that you add to your Home Screen. What shipped this week Browser app (PWA) with Web Push, so you can answer without the native app (#1, #6). One screen, no scrolling, on every phone and desktop size, checked in CI on 33 screens (#5). Devices list shows which device is the app and which is the PWA, and a reinstall reuses the same device (#10, #17). New landing page: "Agent | Device" tabs that open on the right one for your device (#19). Security work before going public: agent tokens can no longer act as a phone (#23), and location requests are rate-limited per person (#28). CI/CD: deploys wait for CI, and an Android build pipeline exists (#13, #18). How it is built Most of this week's work was done by AI coding agents running in parallel, one job each. A local decision model (Kev) gates the merges: a PR merges when Kev scores it 0.8 or more, and the score goes up only with real evidence such as a test, a review, or a check run. A separate review agent read the security fixes before they merged. Try it, or help Connect your agent: whereabot.io Roadmap: docs/roadmap.md Contribute: docs/contributing.md Found a security issue? Report it privately: SECURITY.md Next week: native location on the Mac app, and the dev → prod release flow.
